Satellites of Macclesfield are looking to appoint a highly motivated Head Coach, with great communication skills and the vision and drive to push the club forwards.
Satellites are a SwimMark accredited club with around 200 members ranging from LTS Stage 6 up to National level. We have recently gained additional pool time at a second site with brand new facilities and are in the process of growing the club. Satellites is a very well established club and has been operating continuously since 1973. Satellites is an inclusive club with a squad of successful para swimmers which the Head Coach will lead and develop with the support of the club. Satellites also has a new but growing Masters section.
Satellites is a club with a strong competitive background and ethos. We host several extremely popular open meets each year plus some junior level competitions for the younger swimmers of clubs in the local area. We recently also hosted the amazing Sprint with the Stars meet where age group swimmers had the chance to race against Olympic level athletes such as Adam Peaty, James Guy and Freya Anderson. The club is well represented at County, Regional and National levels.
The successful applicant will be qualified to Swim England Swimming Coach Level 2 or higher. The club will support a Level 2 Coach in obtaining a Level 3 certification as well as CPDs in any relevant areas including para swimming. The successful applicant will appreciate the importance of nutrition; land-based strength & conditioning; along with the psychological aspects of performance swimming and be keen to develop a well rounded training programme for the club’s athletes.
The Head Coach will be responsible for managing and developing the coaching staff and will work with the committee, volunteers, swimmers and parents to get the best out of each athlete. The Head Coach will be a visible leader who will foster engagement and team spirit across the full range of the club. The Head Coach should support the club with competition write ups, swim camps and other events (competitive or social).
Please send your CV and covering letter of no more than ~500 words to contact@swimsatellite.co.uk. In your covering letter please explain what you would bring to the club and how you would look to take it forwards.
We will look to invite short listed candidates for an interview via Zoom during w/c 18th October. If required, candidates may be invited to coach a sample session during w/c 1st November.
