39 Satellites qualified for the 2020 Cheshire Champs and made the (short!) journey to our home pool on 18 and 19 January for the first weekend of competition.
Satellites got off to a great start with new special ‘Cheshire Champs’ hats, a fantastic supportive team atmosphere, and most swims leading to a PB.
The results from Weekend 1 are; 3 bronze medals, 4 silver medals, 15 regional times and a new British record!
Well done to all the medallists below:
Congratulations to the 9 swimmers who achieved 15 regional times at Weekend 1 – some of these times are especially important as they are first regional times. There will be more to come in weekends 2 and 3 of the competition and a full write up to follow.
Special mention to the fabulous Samm Lewis who is not only one of our coaches but a talented national swimmer. On Sunday afternoon Samm swam an epic race in the gruelling 1500m Free and is now the British record holder!Well done to all Satellites who competed. Thank you to Steve and all the coaches who ensured the swimmers had the best preparation. Special thanks to all the Team Managers who supported the swimmers during the weekend and to those who also helped as officials and on the door – see you all next weekend!
