Satellites Competitive Squad is split into 4 groups and is tiered so that swimmers will progressively improve their technique and increase their speed and endurance to compete at the highest levels. Swimmers arriving from the Academy will work their way from squad D up to squad A. The admission criteria for entry into a particular squad is not limited by age. However, the stamina, strength and skills required to complete the training sessions will determine that most swimmers will take a minimum of one year in each squad before they are ready to progress to the next level. As a swimmer moves up through the squad levels so the number of training sessions available increases and with it the expectations to train and compete at a higher level.
There are 4 key factors involved in maintaining a swimmers squad place and earning a promotion to a higher squad.
The coaching team support the Head Coach with feedback on training sessions and maintain a register of attendance.
Any decision on squad promotion rests solely with the Head Coach.
